Benedikt Böhm – Extreme Mountaineer, Ski Mountaineer & Keynote Speaker
Speed mountaineering in the ‘death zone’: as an extreme ski mountaineer, Benedikt Böhm climbs the world’s highest mountains in a light, fast style. As a managing director and speaker, he applies these experiences to the areas of leadership, risk management and resilience.
Speed Climbing in the Death Zone
For Benedikt Böhm, speed climbing means ascending a mountain as lightly and quickly as possible – without bottled oxygen, without high-altitude camps, and in a single push from base camp to the summit and back. The key factors are minimal weight, perfect acclimatisation, consistent training and uncompromising efficiency. For above 7,500 metres – in the ‘death zone’ – speed becomes a crucial safety factor. Benedikt Böhm has developed and perfected this alpine style over more than two decades on eight-thousanders such as Manaslu, Cho Oyu and Gasherbrum II.
